How Do I Take Care of My ESSENZA Porcelain?

The ESSENZA porcelain is - if we may say so ourselves – beautiful, so of course you will want to keep it that way! How do you do that? Below we would like to give you some tips & tricks for the maintenance of your new porcelain. In addition, the bottom of each crockery piece is labelled as suitable for the dishwasher and microwave, so you know exactly where you stand.

1) Is the porcelain dishwasher safe?

Most items from the ESSENZA porcelain collection can simply be put in the dishwasher. Some, however, - delightfully old fashioned - will have to be washed by hand. There is an easy rule of thumb: all ESSENZA porcelain with gold parts, such as a gold print or a golden handle, should not be put in the dishwasher.

Please note that the entire Masterpiece series is not suitable for the dishwasher.

2) Is the porcelain microwave safe?

Most items from the ESSENZA porcelain collection are suitable for the microwave, but not all! Again, there is an easy rule of thumb: all the ESSENZA porcelain with gold parts, such as a gold print or a golden handle, are not suitable for the microwave.

3) How can I best wash the porcelain by hand?

When you wash the porcelain by hand, it stays beautiful for longer and you have less chance of damage. We advise you not to stack the crockery too much in the sink and to be careful with sharp cutlery to prevent damage to your beautiful porcelain items. Furthermore, we recommend washing the dishes with water that is not too hot. A high water temperature can cause small fractures in the porcelain. That would be a shame, right?

4) Is the porcelain oven safe?

The ESSENZA porcelain is baked in an oven of up to 800 to 1250 degrees. The porcelain is therefore resistant to extreme heat and it is not a problem to place porcelain items in the oven. For example, you can heat up your favourite dishes on ESSENZA plates and in our bowls in the oven. Bon appétit!
