What is Cotton Renforcé?
Cotton renforcé, percale, cotton satin… duvet cover sets are available in many different fabrics. In this article we zoom in on cotton renforcé, a cool and smooth fabric, which can be used all year round!
Renforcé = strengthened
Renforcé comes from the French word for 'strengthened'. Cotton renforcé means 'strengthened cotton'. The cotton is woven in a special way (with a flat binding) so the fabric is reinforced and stronger than normal cotton. A renforcé duvet cover is therefore more durable and feels lovely and smooth so you can sleep comfortably under it!
Cool Fabric for Warm Summer Nights
The cotton renforcé fabric feels lovely and cool, absorbs moisture and regulates temperature. This makes it the ideal duvet cover fabric for warm summer nights. However, it is also comfortable to sleep under in winter due to the temperature regulating properties of the fabric.
The benefits of Cotton Renforcé:
- Sturdy and durable cotton
- Feels lovely and smooth
- Absorbs moisture and regulates temperature
- Easy to maintain
- Front and back look the same
- Fabric does not pill or warp
How to Look After Cotton Renforcé?
Cotton renforcé can be washed in the washing machine between 40°C and 60°C. You can put the duvet cover set in the dryer, but this will result in more creases than if you hang it out, however it will stay softer. You can iron a cotton renforcé duvet cover set on a medium temperature.
