What is GOTS Cotton?
At ESSENZA HOME we work and produce with as much care and attention as possible for people, the environment and society. As a producer of cotton products, finding more sustainable raw materials and reducing the consumption of water, energy and chemicals is one of the main spearheads of our CSR policy. We are therefore increasingly opting for organic cotton - especially GOTS certified cotton. What this is? We would love to tell you!
Organically Grown, Environmentally Friendly and Socially Responsible
GOTS-certified cotton is organic, which means that no chemical pesticides have been used in growing the cotton. But GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) goes beyond that. Better for your skin, better for the environment and better for the workers. The organic cotton feels wonderfully soft and lasts for years. A sustainable choice! GOTS imposes requirements on factories regarding the use of harmful chemicals and the consumption of water and energy.
GOTS also includes criteria for working conditions in production. These are based on international labour organisation standards, such as the right to freedom of trade -

What is cotton percale?
Cotton percale is a luxurious fabric with a wonderfully fresh feel. It is delightfully soft and smooth, breathes well and is therefore one of our favourite fabrics for the bedroom. Especially in the summer! Wondering exactly what cotton percale is? Here we explain it for you!
Cotton percale, what is it?
Percale is made from 100% cotton and therefore has all the wonderful qualities of cotton: it breathes well and absorbs moisture. The difference with 'normal' cotton is the number of threads (the thread count) that is used. Cotton percale has a higher thread count and uses a finer yarn and therefore feels softer, smoother and more pleasant against the skin. It may only be called percale if the thread count is higher than 200. The higher the thread count, the more beautiful, softer and smoother the fabric.

What is cotton flannel?
Brrr… these cold nights always take some getting used to. If you always feel the cold in bed, then a flannel duvet cover set offers the perfect solution. Flannel is lovely, thick and super soft making sure that you are warm - even during the coldest winter nights.
Cotton Flannel, what is it?
With a cotton flannel duvet cover set, you can easily keep the cold from your bed. The soft fabric adapts directly to your body temperature and holds in the heat all night. Our flannel duvet cover sets are made from 100% cotton. The difference with regular cotton is that flannel is made from a loose spun yarn that is woven into a linen or twill weave. After that, the flannel fabric is roughened so that it feels soft, woolly and delightfully thick; ideal for winter.

What is cotton satin?
Cotton satin: our favourite fabric for on the bed! This wonderfully soft cotton is ideal for sleeping under because it is soft, smooth and breathable at the same time. Cool in the summer and warm in the winter. In short, it is the ideal bedding! But what actually is cotton satin? Here we explain it to you!
Cotton satin, not to be confused with...
Cotton satin is often confused with polyester satin, the shiny, smooth fabric. Satin, however, says nothing about the material, instead it is about the weave. Cotton satin is made from 100% natural cotton and therefore has all the wonderful qualities of cotton: it is breathable and moisture-absorbent. A cotton satin duvet cover set feels much softer and smoother than a 'normal' cotton duvet cover set due to the special 'satin weave'. Moreover, the colours on cotton satin
